For the kids...
Yes kids, sometimes it's all for you. When I say "the kids," what I mean is, "my crazy (loveable) highschool students." When you hear teachers say, "I do it for the kids," what they really mean, is they endure great hardships on behalf of their students. Grading papers, monitoring progress, deciding who gets it and who doesn't, and how to fix it, figuring out how to make art history "interesting" to the 17-year-old mind (is that even possible?) and overusing quotation marks. And writing blog entries about the kids at 9:38 at night at the beginning of Thanksgiving vacation. Because, kids, realize that half my vacation will be spent setting up YOUR next three weeks of work, tests, study guides, directions, rubrics, blog posts, and essay questions. Muahahahahah! I don't know any teachers (thank goodness) who don't do it for the kids. They are really all we've got, when it comes down to it. I'm delirious. Can't wait to get to work on my schoolwork, for now I think I'll watch some more Photoshop videos. Oh yeah, that would be...for the kids.
